Down by the Berry Patch

by Dr. Julia A. Berg

When I was in high school, I earned college money by running a fourteen acre raspberry patch; a job that involved learning many life skills. Therefore, when I began to write stories about my life, I decided to call the collection Down by the Berry Patch.

In January 2008, my son, Dr. Steven L. Berg, suggested that I begin to put my stories on-line and agreed to serve as my webmaster.

Down by the Berry Patchthe on-line versionnot only includes selected stories, but information about my quilting and photography as well.

I hope you enjoy taking a trip down memory lane with me. I also encourage you to begin writing your own stories.

            --Julia A. Berg, Ed.D.

In Memorium

On 8 December 2008, Dr. Julia Judy Berg died peacefully. She was surrounded by family and friends. During the last few months of her life, she was forced to make a choice between publishing more of her stories and photographs and working on a family genealogy.

Although her dream had been to see Down by the Berry Patch published as a book, she chose to work on the Wilcox-Berg-Liberacki Genealogy, a project she considered a valuable gift to her family.

Down by the Berry Patch has inspired many individuals including students whom have designed final portfolios based on her web site. Therefore, her family, under the coordination of Dr. Steven L. Berg, will continue to update this web site.

If you would like to be informed when updates become available, please contact Dr. Berg and he will keep you informed.
